Understand the components involved in the air intake system. The intake Car Intake system will consist of an air filter, tube and couplers. The air box, or air cleaner cover, houses the entire system.
Look under your hood and locate the large duct connected to your air cleaner cover. This is located in a different location depending on your vehicle's make and year. Check your vehicle's repair manual for more specific location information.
Take the housing off to identify and locate the rest of the air intake system. To do this, loosen the clamp on the hose just enough to slide up the hose a little. Then wiggle the end of the hose off and push aside to a safe location.
Remove the air cleaner housing mounts Car Intake system and lift up the mounting nuts. You may need to remove the clips from the front wheel well and pry the fender back to do this. Lift the housing up and detach from the rest of the intake duct in the inner fender. This gives you complete access to the air filter and other components of the air intake system.
